Many thanks and well done to everyone who came along to the 2008 East Midlands regional schools competition at Nottingham today. With over 300 of you, plus parents, coaches & teachers, we certainly needed the bigger venue! The whole day went off very smoothly thanks to to tremendous work put in by all the volunteers and the Harvey Hadden centre staff. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! There was a huge range of abilities as usual, from the novice beginners to the national elite performers - I hope you found some of those routines inspiring. The top 3 individuals in each grade and the top 2 teams in each grade will now progress to the Zonal finals, which are being held on 25th January at the Centre AT7 in Coventry. We would like to wish you all the best of luck as you move on to represent our region. **Note: It has been confirmed that both of the drawn 2nd place teams have qualified for the U13 Girls Elite. If any of the qualifiers are unable to make the Zonals, please let us know as soon as possible, so that someone else can take your place.
It just remains for me to say special thanks to the small but tireless band of helpers from Nightflyers (especially Ian, who rushed back from Mumbai a day early just to help, Keith, Nyoka, Beckie, Charlotte, Lucy, Sarah, Mandie, Emma, Jo, Francis, Chris (Mrs Keith!), Katie, Tuesday and of course Toni) and to all the officials for giving up their Sunday and no small part of their sanity to help us stage the event.
Finally, you may have noticed that DE Photo were on site doing their usual brilliant job taking mug shots of everyone. If you missed your photos at the event, don't worry - you can take a look at them online now by logging on to the DE Photo website. You'll need a username and password, which has been emailed to your coaches / teachers.
