The Venue This year's East Midlands Regional Schools competition will be held at the Harvey Hadden Sports Complex in Nottingham. The competition is being held on Sunday 6th December from 9.00am to 5.00pm. The centre has a café serving hot & cold food and vending machines – they may get overloaded by the lunchtime rush though! There are also a few shops about 400 yards away on Bracebridge Drive (turn right on leaving the centre, then second left).
The equipment used will be a mixture of 6mm and 6x4mm trampolines. There will be no half-inch trampolines available. Please can any elite competitors who absolutely cannot use a 6x4 bed please let us know before the competition.
The provisional timetable is shown below. Remember that you must be there an hour before your scheduled start time (or 8.30 for 9.00), as the competition may run ahead of schedule by this amount.
Spectators are welcome - there should be plenty of space for parents to come along and watch. We've got tombolas and cake stalls, and a brilliant gymnastics clothing stall (including trampoline shoes). There's also a professional photography service in attendance for those Xmas photo presents... | How to Enter All entries should now be in, and a provisional list of entrants has been sent out to the schools and clubs for checking. Please get any corrections or omissions back to me by Thursday 26th Nov.
Note that there are some important rule changes – especially with regards to the Elite set routine. Specifically, this now has a tucked back SS and a tucked back SS to seat included. However, the eligibility for entry to the novice grade is still defined to exclude anyone who has competed at Regional Grade G or above. This does mean that there will be a number of trampolinists who will be unable to compete at either grade – those who have competed with a front somersault routine at grade G, but who cannot yet perform the tucked back and tucked back to seat moves. Can I ask you all to ensure that you have registered your school with the BSGA for this year. You cannot enter unless this is done. You can use this link: http://www.british-gymnastics.org/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=941&Itemid=471 If you are unable to affiliate using this online service (which requires a credit/debit card) you may instead include a separate cheque for your registration fee with your entry and send them all to me at the address on the entry form. Please be sure to include the name and address of the school, a contact name and a phone number. The fee for affiliation to BSGA is £10 for primary schools, £10 for individual entries and £15 for senior schools. This covers all members from the school for the entire academic year. The competition entry fee is in addition to this, and is £8 per person. You can download the entry form by clicking here. Please ensure that this is completed and returned to the address on the form, with the entry fee by the closing date, November 1st. Important: can you please also email an electronic copy to me: chris@nightflyers.org.uk as I really need this to process the entries without risking typing mistakes or repetitive strain injury!. (note: The ‘payments’ sheet has the address on, which lines up with a standard ‘window’ envelope for your convenience) You can download the current rules here - please be sure that you have read and understood them. If you are uncertain, please email me. | On the Day Please aim to arrive an hour before you are due to warm up (the times below are the warm up start times). If you are competing at 9.00 though, aim for 8.30. Click here for an interactive map of the venue. Team managers and officials please arrive in good time, so we can get you signed in, check for any late changes and sort out any instruction needed for novice officials. In particular, can all computer recorders please pop along to the admin desk in plenty of time so they can be shown the new software we are using. We are very short of judges and are having to beg and cajole all of the local trampoline clubs to help us fill the remaining posts with suitably qualified people. If you have agreed to help, please be sure to let us know should you have a problem attending and if you know of someone else who may help, please tell us! | Directions Anyone travelling from the North should use the M1, exiting at J26 and taking the A610 towards Nottingham. Take the 5th exit at the roundabout - the A6002 - and continue for about 1 and a half miles to the traffic lights at Strelley. Turn left here onto Strelley Road and then take the 2nd right onto Wigman Road. Harvey Hadden is less than half a mile down this road, on your left.
If you are travelling from the South on the M1, exit at J25, taking the A52 into Nottingham, being sure to turn left (2nd exit) at the second roundabout (Bramcote, by the Sherwin Arms) following signs for A6007 Ilkeston, then turn right at the mini roundabout onto the A6002 (Coventry Lane), right at the lights onto the A609 Trowell road, left at the next lights onto Glaisdale Drive, then left at the mini roundabout onto Wigman Road.
Those of you travelling from the East or from the south via the A60 or A46 should take the ring road past the Queens Medical Centre (A52 junction) and continue up the ring road (through the average speed camera zone) to the Crown island (A609 junction). Continue up the ring road and turn left at the next set of lights onto Beechdale Road (by the leisure centre) and continue along this road (which becomes Wigman Road) for about a mile. Harvey Hadden is on your right after the 3rd roundabout (1st & 2nd are proper islands, 3rd is mini). | | Competition Set Routines: | Elite | | Novice | Back Somersault (Tucked) | | Full Twist Jump | Straddle Jump | | Straddle Jump | Back Somersault (Tucked) to Seat | | Seat Drop | Half Twist to Feet | | Half Twist to Seat | Half Twist | | Half Twist to Feet | Pike Jump | | Pike Jump | Back Drop | | Back Drop | Half Twist to Feet | | Half Twist to Feet | Tuck Jump | | Tuck Jump | Front Somersault (Tucked) | | Half Twist Jump |

| Notes on the Timetable: | These times will be confirmed approximately one week before the competition. Some classes will run a multiple flight system - U15 G Elite, U15 G Novice, U13 G Novice, U19 G Novice. Also, since the U13 G Novice is a particularly large group, the warmup and Set routines will be on panel 3 and the Voluntary routines on panel 4. As each of the 5 flights completes their Set round, they move to the other panel. |
