| Back on the road again for a trip to sunny Peterborough on a lovely spring morning for the second event of 2010. Kevin, Ann and the rest of their crew did a great job setting up and running the event, which made a very welcome change after the past few very hectic months for us at Nightflyers. Our team was missing a few of our regulars due to other commitments, but we did manage to persuade 11 of you to represent us. First up in the morning we had Sophie who has just moved up a grade, but put in a steady pair of routines to finish in 8th place. Then it was Steph's turn - but she managed to forget the set routine mid-way, which put a bit of a damper on her chances! Lucas then did a brilliant set routine to lead his class after the first round, but an unfortunate slip in his vol dropped him down the rankings. Better luck next time! Charlotte continued her steady improvement on her path towards grade D qualification, achieving the minimum qualifying score and coming 7th in the final. Tuesdea achieved our only placing of the day with an excellent performance that saw her qualify to 'leap-frog' up to grade E - well done! Natalie was at her first competition today, yet delivered two very tidy routines in a closely competed group, only missing out on a qualifying score by 0.3. Finally, Emma finished off the afternoon for us with a well deserved qualifying score in the under 11 grade H. So well done to everyone and thanks for making the effort to compete - we hope you enjoyed yourselves. Many thanks to Maddie and Natalie's parents for helping out and to Toni and Helen for their encouraging presence. The next competition is at Nottingham, so we expect a full turnout from Night Flyers! |
