| Well done to all the Night Flyers who competed today at Peterborough. We took 10 of you along to the last grading event of 2011, with the usual mixture of first-timers, new routines and old-hands. As always, you did us proud! Matthew started the day off for us as the first bouncer in the entire event, and did the best set routine I've ever seen from him. The chair of his panel used Matthew's full twist as an example of what a '1' deduction should look like (see - we told you it works if you look where you're going!). Sadly though a mistake in his vol resulted in a mat landing (no pun intended), which dropped him from his first place. Great effort though. |

| Next we had Lucy and Katie at their first ever compettion, with Molly in the Under 13 Grade H. Lucy delivered two beautiful routines to win the group and acheived a qualifying score along the way. Molly finished a commendable 5th and with Katie only a little behind they took the team gold. | |
| Next up on panel two were Jodie and Grace. Despite their perpetual moans, life-threatening injuries (e.g. bent fingernail) and excuses, they both did absolutely brilliantly to take the top two places in a very competitive group and both acheived qualifying scores. No excuses for those tuck backs and baranis now! | |
| While we were watching that presentation, Nina quietly got on with her very first grade G competition and executed two lovely routines to finish in 4th place following the tie break decision for 3rd. | |
| Hollie was the last of the morning bouncers and managed to mirror Matthew's fortune - a great set routine put her in a comfortable 1st place, but a bit of a stumble in her vol cost her a few marks that knocked her down to 5th place. She really has shown us what she is capable of though - better luck next time Hol! | |
| We had just two entrants in the afternoon - Sophie and Katie were battling to decide who could be the biggest nervous wreck before a competition. In the event, Sophie edged ahead by not even attempting the ballout, while Katie had a go, changed her mind and landed awkwardly, resulting in some very sore muscles. I gather she's on the mend though - no serious harm done. The upshot however, was that Sophie came first in the group of 6 with a good qualifying score, while Katie came 4th, despite only completing 9 moves! Well done to both of you - it takes real determination to get up there and do it when you're shaking like a jelly. | |
| So, overall a good set of club results. We really want to see more of you competing - no excuses! I want to be able to tell everyone how brilliant the rest of you are too! | |
