Awards Scheme

 

tramp-badgeThe British Gymnastics Trampoline Award Scheme is designed to teach a complete beginner (1) through to entry level competition standard (9).  The newer awards up to level 13 include moves up to grade 3 competition level, while 14 and 15 move on towards national grades.  There are badges and certificates for each level of achievement.  These can be purchased from the club when your coach has ‘passed’ each of the moves required for a given level.  The requirements for each award are given below.

Award 1  
1 Waiting turn and good behaviour around the trampoline
2 Mount and dismount to and from a central position
3 Move, or be moved, freely around the trampoline
4 Sitting and bouncing / rocking
5 Standing and bouncing / rocking
6 Lying on the back and being bounced
7 Hands and knees bouncing / rocking

 

Award 2  
1 From seat position, bounce using arm movements
2 Hands and knees bouncing
3 Bounce a set number of times and stop
4 Roll in the horizontal position, under control
5 Quarter twist in an upright position
6 Seat drop, not returning to feet
7 Show the star position

 

Award 3  
1 Straight jumping using arms
2 Puck jump
3 Astride jumping
4 Half twist jump
5 Star jump
6 Back bouncing, with assistance
7 In a set number of bounces, show at least 2 skills

 

Award 4  
1 Tuck jump, touching below knee cap
2 Straddle jump
3 Seat drop, returning to feet
4 Link two half twist jumps
5 Split jumps
6 Hands and knees, to front drop
7 Repeat a skill 3 times, without any intermediate jumps

 

Award 5  
1 Five straight jumps, stop and stay still for 3 seconds
2 Tuck jump with stretch and touch
3 Piked straddle jump
4 Front drop onto a mat
5 Back landing onto a mat
6 Seat drop, to feet, half twist jump
7 Half twist jump, seat drop, to feet
Routine Straddle jump. Seat drop, To feet, Tuck jump, Half twist jump, straight jump and stop

1 Seat drop, ½ twist to feet

5 Front drop or back drop, full twist to feet
6 Full twist to seat drop or back drop, to feet
7 Back drop, back pullover to feet
8 Front somersault (tucked) or Back Somersault (tucked or straight)

1 Front drop to back drop, to front drop, to back drop, to front drop

Body Preparation
1 Hold Crash Dive position for 10 seconds
Dorsal raises 20 without stopping
Heel raises 30
Crunches 20
2 With arms held up, balance on one leg, do tuck, pike, straddle shapes with other leg, not touching ground x2.
Repeat for other leg.
3 On Bed:

10 consecutive tucks, straddles, pikes
10 back bounces
5 consecutive swivel hips with legs locked straight

2 Basic core stability exercise:
With arms by ears, balance on one leg with body nearly horizontal,
show tuck position with one leg and both arms then line out with arms by sides – Repeat x3 without putting foot to foot. Repeat for other leg.
Holding sitting pike shape touching toes – 5 seconds
3 On Bed – Compulsory

15 consecutive tucks, pikes, straddles
15 straight bounces with arms held straight above head
5 consecutive cradles
